Sunday was one of those days when the line between heaven and earth seemed to blur, as though God was physically present and, had I reached out and pushed into the air, I might have felt God.

Our family has been carrying a handful of hard in recent weeks, but as we gathered to celebrate the covenant of baptism for baby Henry (who is the human equivalent of a joy bomb), I was reminded, again, of God's faithfulness and the hope that the gospel affords. 🤍

And what a gift to gather with so many members of Henry's Fan Club, including two sets of GREAT grandparents, two enthusiastic godparents (you will do a great job @hillaryblakeley + Robbie), and one "hungry" older brother. 😉

Ever feel like you're blowing it as a mom? That's okay. Our kids don't need to look at us. They need to look at Jesus.

And I'll never forget the wisdom my friend, Lisa Robertson, gleaned from her mom (who, like every mom everywhere, was all too aware of her own shortcomings). "It's a good thing I'm not perfect," she'd say to her kids, "because otherwise you'd be tempted to worship me." 😉

Shout out to my grand-dog Ipo, who just earned her Junior Title (JH)🏆.

To get this award, Ipo had to mark and retrieve birds on land and water...SIXTEEN TIMES IN A ROW. 🦆🦆🦆

For context, I could not do that one time. (Neither could Minnie, but let's keep that between us.)

Had you told me, three years ago, that I would be posting about a hunting dog, I would have said you had me mixed up with someone else. But hey. Grandparenting - whether it's babies or pups - holds a lot of joyful surprises! 😉 Mary + Robbie, keep up the good work!

And P.S. - Ipo (pronounced ee-poh) means "Sweetheart" in Hawaiian. The name fits. 🥰

1. Find an inspiring friend (feel free to borrow mine; @alisakeeton will get you moving in all the right ways!
2. Get a weighted vest (everyone's doing it 😂)
3. Invite a cute friend to train with you (love you forever @jeanniecunnion)
4. Find a race that suits your athletic prowess
5. Think about what you are doing
6. Think about it some more 🤦‍♀️
7. Just sign up, already!
8. Second guess your decision
9. Oh heck. Just get out there and do it. (How hard could it be???)
